Hi, I’m Mel.

I’m sharing little ways that I find comfort and balance with a fast-paced, digital career. In a more, more, more society I hope you find retreat and inspiration to strike the balance, too.

Keeping it Minimal: My Favorite Kitchen Tools

The kitchen is the room with the highest risk for clutter. With so many accessories and tools, the sky is the limit in filling the countertops and drawers. I’m always looking for the best products to simplify and declutter, so today I’m sharing my favorite picks that we use at home to keep things simple in our most-used area of the house.

  1. Caraway Pan Set: We just got these a month ago - and we are IN love! The storage is so satisfying and cleared up an entire section of our big bottom cabinet.

  2. Our Place Always Pan: Not necessary to have both the Caraway set and the Always Pan, but we love both! It’s nice to have the Always Pan as an extra. It functions in so many ways - it can be a steamer, a saute pan, a sauce pan…and it even comes with a spatula and a built-in spoon rest. I love the functionality and simplicity of this item.

  3. Rachael Ray Knife Set: We’re in love with this set! We’ve had it a couple of years now, and the quality is good for the price. We had a hard time finding a more simplified knife set with just a few knives, and this one has a great selection. We truly use them all, and none of them go unused.

  4. Bamboo brush set: I love the design of this, and it’s very functional. It’s a simple way to keep a sponge out without the sloppy look. Music to my ears!

  5. Wall Mounted Cell Phone Charger: I’m all about the looks and this helps keep the counters clear from clutter. Each item I can keep off of the countertops is a win for me.

  6. Lastly, hire an organizer! I recently had Kelly, owner of Organized Interiors St. Louis come over and assess our cabinets. In just a few hours, she had all of our items re-organized in the most usable way and even cleared up some room for us. It was worth every penny. Some of our favorite items that we implemented using were: expand-a-shelf, this lazy susan inside the cabinet, and can dispensers for the fridge.
