Pools in St. Louis: A Round Up
The St. Louis heat is HERE! Every year, everyone is always on the hunt for a good pool. Here’s a run down of spots you can head to when the St. Louis humidity calls for a day to splash around.
Maplewood Family Aquatic Center, Richmond Heights - I love this spot - it’s huge and has so much room to spread out! It has two slides, a concession stand, a kid’s pool and a large recreation pool. It’s usually pretty crowded on the weekends so plan to go when they open or else you likely won’t score a lounger. Season passes are available, or you can pay a daily rate ($8-10). If you’re a resident of Maplewood, Richmond Heights, Brentwood, Rock Hill or City of St. Louis (districts 23 and 24) - you can actually pay the resident rate or get the value card (10 passes for $60).
Shaw Park Aquatic Center, Clayton - Such a nice spot right next to Shaw Park in Clayton - AKA very centrally located in St. Louis. Unfortunately, this one is tough to visit a few times without being a Clayton resident. Being a non-resident member looks like the best way to go ($239/adult) if you aren’t living or working in Clayton. It looks like corporate employees with offices in Clayton can get in for visits (non membership), and can bring outside guests - but non-resident guests cannot visit without a member.
Des Peres Lodge - This is a great spot, and is very family-friendly! Admission rates for residents and non-residents are listed here ($7 for residents, $10 for non-residents). The outdoor pool area has a kids area, two slides, lazy river, and a concession stand.
Four Seasons, Downtown St. Louis - if you’re an overnight guest, this pool has an Arch view and is very resort-style. 5-star luxury, for sure! If you aren’t staying over, pool passes are available for $35 per person for spa guests on the day of the treatment. To book, call the spa - this would be such a great stay-cation day to treat yourself!
Le Meridien, Clayton - centrally located and part of the Marriott family, overnight guests have access to this beautiful rooftop pool. Worth the staycation! If you want to drop by for a one-time visit, this article is showing that it’s open to the public on Thursday nights. You can also book a day pass for $45 using Resort Pass.
Waterman Pool - advertised basically nowhere, there is a really nice, quiet pool available to residents of the Waterman/Debaliviere neighborhood area in the city, just between Debalivere and Clara on Waterman Blvd. Email watermanpool@gmail.com to join.
Kirkwood Aquatic Center, Kirkwood- I haven’t been here but it looks like a great place to cool off! Rates are listed here and are comparable to Shaw Park and The Lodge.
Hotel Saint Louis - Go here for the views! Hotel Saint Louis is a historic spot downtown. This rooftop pool looks smaller, but they offer full food and drink service. They aren't offering day passes this summer, so the best bet would be accessing with an overnight stay as a local staycation treat.
The Last Hotel, St. Louis - This is such a unique spot! This Hyatt boutique hotel is super trendy. Their picturesque resort-style rooftop pool is also available to visit by the day via Resort Pass.
Blanchette Aquatic Center, St. Charles - If you’re up for a drive out west, this spot looks so fun! Their rates are really reasonable, and even more reasonable if you’re local to St. Charles. It looks like they have multiple slides, concessions, and even a climbing wall.
North Point Aquatic Center, Ballwin - This pool has all the bells and whistles. The Lazy River looks really big and they have one of the classic “bucket falls” for kids. They also have an outdoor grill with food and drink options - so plan on staying for the day.
