Classic Homemade Banana Bread

I get asked for this recipe almost every time I share my banana bread. It’s my grandma’s recipe, and it sure is an all-time favorite fall, feel good, soul-warming treat. It’s special to make this recipe over and over again and it makes everyone happy, always. The smell of the bread baking makes any place feel like home.

Combine:
-2 cups flour
-1 tsp. baking soda
-1 tsp. salt
My trick: hand mix this to a fine powder for extra fluff

Add, one at a time:
-1 stick of butter
-1 cup of sugar
-2 eggs
-2 mashed bananas (they can be frozen)
-1 tbsp. vinegar + milk for 1/2 cup total
My trick: add each item in small portions, and mix throughly at each pause

Add chocolate chips (and don’t skimp on them!), bake at 350F. Another trick - use mini chocolate chips. You can add nuts if you want to, but I like it plain and simple.

This makes about 4 mini loaves or 2 dozen muffins.
